SARAH O’REILLY GETS THE JOB DONE FOR CRAN & NATHAN WITH ALTA ENDEAVOUR
She’s new to the Kentuckiana Lodge team, but Sarah O’Reilly, daughter of leading horseman Gerard, is already proving her worth.
Off a strong first full season in 2018-2019, Sarah has begun the new term as she left off, and grabbed a good win for the stable when guiding Alta Endeavour to victory in the Brosnan Transport Passing Lane Mobile at Timaru on Sunday.
O’Reilly won 20 races last season from 169 drives and joined up with Cran and Nathan this season as she looks to better that result.
Her patience in the sulky has been notable in her short career as a junior driver, that again to the fore behind Alta Endeavour in her second win for her new empoyers after reining Dongeal Mary Francis to victory at Invercargill in late September.
Alta Endeavour is a three-year-old gelded son of Somebeachsomewhere and Princess Arts (Art Major), a seven-race winner herself from just 24 starts, and a daughter of former top filly Natal Franco (Badlands Hanover) who won seven from 37 for co-owner and trainer Vin Devery.
The stable went close to a quinella with Invaluable finishing third in the same race, another placing for the consistent three-year-old.
