BUZINGA WINS FIRST-UP FOR DEAN BRAUN
Former Kentuckiana Lodge Group One-placed 3YO filly Buzinga hasn’t taken long to hit her straps in Victoria.
The capable daughter of Bettor’s Delight and Safedra was untroubled to win as a $1.30 favourite at Cranbourne, Victoria, on Sunday (July 21).
Buzinga, driven by Kima Frenning, first-up for the Dean Braun stable, drew clear to win by 12.4 metres in a 1:59.9 rate for the 2080m.
She quickened over her last 800m in 57.7s and her final 400m in 28.3s in the Hyland Harness Colours Pace.
Buzinga, now racing for Josh Tinning Standardbreds, won three and was three times placed in 14 NZ starts for the Cran Dalgety stable, before being sold earlier this month.
Her notable NZ placing came with her third to Belle Of Montana and Wainui Creek in the Group One $138,00 Alabar Sires Stakes 3YO Fillies Championship at Auckland in December.
Meanwhile, the Kentuckiana Lodge team are preparing for the new term on August 1, when the new training partnership of Cran Dalgety and Nathan Purdon comes into vogue.
They are trialling several at the Rangiora trials on Wednesday.
