Former star NZ driver Dexter Dunn has elevated himself to third among the leading North American drivers in 2019, after another stellar performance in Canada on Saturday.
Adding to last week’s total, Dexter reined former smart North Island pacer Bettor Spirits to a hollow 12 and a half lengths win in 1:51.2 at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Sunday (Monday NZ time).
This was his 196th win of the year, while he’s had 158 seconds, and 144 thirds, with his drives winning $3.48 million.
Only, champion North American driver Tim Tetrick ($5.2 million) and Jason Bartlett ($4.1 million) are ahead of Dexter on driver earnings.
Long-established North American driver George Brennan is currently a close fourth behind Dexter having driven the winners of $3.45 million.
