DEXTER BRINGS UP 22nd WIN IN USA
Dexter Dunn brought up his 22nd USA driving win in a month with an upset victory behind NZ-bred Messi (5h Lis Mara-Enjoy) at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Monday (NZ time).
Messi crossed to second from the six gate and was given every chance, winning by a neck in 1:53.2.
Dexter was in good form at Harrah’s late last week, scoring six wins in four days there.
One of his other wins was behind the ex-Tony Herlihy-trained pacer Gold Orchid (4m Bettor’s Delight-Honey Rose Falcon), who won a $14,000 fillies and mares pace at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Sunday in 1:53.2.
Gold Orchid, who started the favourite, is now racing for expatriate NZ trainer, Mark Harder.
Dexter also won a $30,000 Liberty Bell 2YO Fillies Division Pace at the same venue late last week for the “Nifty” Norman stable, driving May Bride Hanover.
The daughter of Captraintreacherous led from the six gate and held in 1:53.2.
He will mix driving at Harrah’s Philadelphia in Pennyslvania, and The Red Mile in Lexington, Kentucky, over the next few days.
