DEXTER RACKS UP 30th WIN IN FIRST MONTH IN STATES
Ten-time NZ premiership winning driver Dexter Dunn brought up his 30th USA win in a month in a stakes race at the Red Mile, Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday (NZ time).
Dexter reined favourite Stonebridge Soul, for expatriate Kiwi trainer Chris Ryder, with a front-running win from the three gate in the $90,700 Bluegrass Series 2YO Fillies pace.
Stonebridge Soul, a daughter of Somebeachsomewhere, held by three-quarters of a length in 1:52.2, the final quarter in 26.6s.
He also won the day’s opener, a $11,000 pace, with fifth favourite Smiley Dragon, in 1:50.8.
Dexter was scheduled to have Sunday off, then has two further stakes races drives in 10-1 chances on Monday at the Red Mile.
He drives Passionate Miss in a $69,000 3YO Fillies Trot, then drives Tae Kwon Deo for Lazarus’s trainer Jimmy Takter in the $121,000 Bluegrass Series 3YO Colts and geldings Trot.
