SHINEONUCRAZYDIAMOND, DONEGAL RUNDLESCREEK, IN FORM
Former consistent Kentuckiana Lodge pacer Shineonucrazydiamond continues to be a money-making machine in North America.
The Australian-bred won just over $135,000 last year with nine wins for the Ross Croghan stable.
Shineonucrazydiamond won his second race in three starts this year at Yonkers, New York, last Sunday (NZ time).
The Somebeachsomewhere-Bella Shine gelding has quickly banked $24,840 in 2019 after winning last weekend’s $23,000 pace, for non-winners of $20,000 in their last five starts.
Shineonucrazydiamond settled third from the three gate but led turning for home and won by 2 and 3/4 lengths in 1:53.6 (mile) for driver Jim Marohn jun.
He was formerly a 1:55.1 mile rate winner over 1950m at Addington during his NZ racing for the Cran Dalgety stable.
Shineonucrazydiamond raced 29 times in NZ, winning three and placing 11 times, for $43,298 in stakes.
Meanwhile, ex-NZ stablemate Donegal Rundlescreek notched her first win in five attempts this year at Yonkers Raceway last Saturday (NZ time).
She also won a $23,000 pace, this one for fillies and mares.
The diminuitive Bettor’s Delight-Boyd’s Creek mare has also picked up two seconds in her Yonkers racing this year for the Anita Vallee stable.
Donegal Rundlescreek punched out early from the six gate to trail and finished best by half a length in 1:55.8, for driver George Brennan.
She steps up to a $29,000 fillies and mares pace at Yonkers this week.
Donegal Rundlescreek, who punched above her weight when racing in Canterbury for the Cran Dalgety stable, raced 23 times for six wins and four placings, for $31,847.
She won a further six in West Australia (five at Gloucester Park) from 19 starts, before being exported to America.
Donegal Rundlescreek has won won six times in the United States, taking her earnings past the equivalent of $NZ220,000.
