FRIDAY DOUBLE MOVES TEAM TO 26 SEASONAL WINS
Kentuckiana Lodge trainers, Cran Dalgety and Nathan Purdon, advanced to 26 seasonal wins with a Friday double, at the Auckland and Addington meetings, on Friday, December 13.
The partners gained their 14th individual 3YO winner of the season when Fabrizio delivered with a deserving maiden win at Alexandra Park.

The Sweet Lou gelding has always had the ability to win races but inexperience proved costly for him in the spring. He’s continued to improve with each run on his north campaign, and had to be above average to win from the six draw in 1:55.4 for the 1609m in the $13,800 Share Mobile Pace.
Top driver Blair Orange eased him four back on the outer, then made a sweeping run four and three wide from the 600m.
He had to take hold of the half-brother to Hundie (1:56), Rock On (1:55.4) and Punters Dream (1:57.7). round the final turn after getting a touch unbalanced for a couple of strides, but Fabrizio was all business as he knuckled down to the task in hand in the run home.
He won by 1 /2 lengths from solid late finisher Bettor Listen for his maiden win at this fifth start. The Fabrizio maternal family were again in the winner’s enclosure two races later when 3YO filly Kerri Maguire won for the Steve Telfer stable in 1:57.2.

She’s a daughter of Somebeachsomewhere from Unreheased, the top-producing grand-dam of Fabrizio.
Fabrizio is from the race-placed Zagami (Christian Cullen-Unrehearsed, by Live Or Die-Tentative, by Holmes Hanover-Tammera), who placed three times in eight starts when prepared by Cran Dalgety, taking a 1:58.8 placed mile mark.
Zagami is a sister to top filly Lizzie Maguire (p3, 1:55.1, 12 wins including a Harness Jewels 2YO Diamond, Northern Oaks & PGG Wrightson NZ Yearling Sales 3YO Fillies Pace) and to former Kentuckiana Lodge pacer Matt Maguire (p3, 1:53.9, eight wins including a NZ Sires Stakes Silver, and a third in a Victoria Derby Final.
The Christian Cullen-Unrehearsed cross has also left other useful fillies in Tori Maguire (p3, 1:57, Aust) an Martine Maguire (p2, 1:57.7, PGG Wrightson NZ Yearling Sales 2YOf North Island Graduette winner).
Unrehearsed is now the dam of seven individual winners, also leaving Charlie Mach (1:58.9), Thomas Maguire (1:56.2, Aust), and latest winner, Kerri Maguire (p3, 1:57.2), who won at just her fourth start on Friday.
Promising juvenile Krug, didn’t have much go his way in the running from the outside of the front row in the Young Guns Heat.
After settling three back and moving up to challenge on the home turn for Blair Orange, he fought gamely for a length second to front-running Allstars Captaintreachrous colt, It’s All About The Faith (Mark Purdon), who held in 1:56.4 (1609m).
Chevron Action lost her winning chance with an early gallop as a warm favourite in a rating 41-62 trot at Auckland.
At Addington, Bettathanfast resumed from a brief freshener with a bold win in the rating 57-63 Dux Industries Mobile Pace.
He had to work to the front with a lap to run for driver Matt Anderson. After getting headed briefly by That Alexander Guy in the run home, they kicked back to win by 1 1/4 lengths in a 1:56.6 rate for the 1980m.
Gemma Mac, the stable’s current top earner, earned $5000 when running on late for fourth in last Saturday’s $100,000 Peter Breckon Memorial Ladyship Stakes at Auckland, taking her earnings to $55,593.
