He won again for expatriate Australian trainer Ross Croghan, this time in a $US30,000 pace on the half-mile circuit at Yonkers, New York, on Sunday (NZ time) in 1:52.4 (fifths).
He led from the four barrier for driver Brent Holland, holding fellow ex-Kiwi Luis Alberto by a neck.
Shineonucrazydiamond, a 1:50 miler last year on the mile track at the Meadowlands, New Jersey, has taken his yearly earnings over $US142,000 from six wins and eight placings in 23 starts.
He won nine and just over $US135,000 last year. His career winnings have soared to the equivalent of $NZ300,000 from 18 wins in 79 career starts.
Shineonucrazydiamond, a $A86,000 yearling at the 2017 APG Sydney sales, raced 29 times in NZ, winning three and placing 11 times, for $43,298 in stakes, taking a 1;55.1 mile rate best over 1950m during his tough grade racing for the Kentuckiana Lodge stable at Addington.
Cleverly named after the Pink Floyd song from the 1975 Wish You Were Here album, the consistent gelded son of former USA champ Somebeachsomehere, is the first foal from Bella Shine (by Bettor’s Delight), a 1:55.5 mare herself, who won eight and $A53,890.
Grand-dam, Bella Joy (1:55, $A109,849) left three fast ones in Supersonic Miss (1:52.6, ($373,722), Jukebox Music (1:53.6 & $A334,301) and Goodtime Heaven (1A;52 & $A224,0217).
Shineonucrazydiamond’s third dam Intrude left the brilliant Christian Cullen mare, Make Mine Cullen (1:53, 40 wins & $A874,178), including the 2009 Aust. Breeders Crown 3YO Fillies Final and both the 2012 Ladyship Mile at Menangle and Nevele R Queen of The Pacific at Melton.
Make Mine Cullen is subsequently the dam of of Make Mine Heaven (1:53.2, 11 wins & $A99,550), including the 2019 Gr. 3 Young Pacing Cup and Make Mine Memphis (1:55.2, seven wins & $69,850).
Another former Cran Dalgety-developed pacer in Macintosh (10g Mach Three-Style By The Mile) kicked off the Yonkers card by winning a $US18,500 pace in 1:53.1 (fifth) for the Anita Vallee stable and driver Jordan Stratton.
Macintosh, who won only three in NZ for the Kentuckiana Lodge team, furthered his career with 12 wins in Perth before continuing his longevity in the USA.
He’s now won 27 races lifetime for the equivalent of just over $NZ470,000.
Other NZ-breds to win $US30,000 events on the programme were former Miracle Mile, Auckland Cup and NZ Sires Stakes 3YO champ, Have Faith In Me (8g Bettor’s Delight-Scuse Me) in 1:52, for the Jose Godinez stable, and Imarocknrollegend (7g Rock N Roll Heaven-The Chance Todance) in 1:52.2.
Have Faith In Me, who won the 2016 Miracle Mile at Menangle in 1:47.5 for the Allstars stable, has a 1:50.2 (fifth) best in the USA.
He was racking up his eighth win in 21 starts for the year, addding just over $US121,000 to his career bankroll of the equivalent of $1.7 million.
