SPERO DENARIO DEPARTING NZ
Spero Denario, the winner of 10 of 40 starts for $87,616 under the guidance of West Melton trainer Cran Dalgety, is to try his luck in Victoria.
The big 5YO Presidential Ball gelding is being flown to Melbourne at the end of the week to join the stable of Allan McDonough.
Spero Denario, who ran a game fourth in last season’s 4YO Harness Jewels when racetimed in 1:54.5 for the mile, will continue to be raced in Victoria by Melbourne owner Tony Moody.

A tardy beginning prevented Spero Denario from featuring at his last NZ start in Sleepy Tripp’s Cheviot Cup at Rangiora on March 6.
He won twice from 11 starts this season, winning twice over 2600m from a stand at Addington on December 23, and again on January 21.
Jasper The Ghost, another formerly raced by Mr Moody from the Dalgety stable, finished a luckless sixth at her first Perth start last Saturday night.
The winner, NZ-bred Shades Of Brown (Courage Under Fire-Star Balfour), rated 2:03.5 for the stand start 2503m.
Now racing in West Australia as Im Jasper The Ghost, the Village Jasper mare won twice and was five times placed in 14 starts last season.
