TEXICAN, BETTOR’S FIRE, WIN AT YONKERS, NEW YORK
Veteran former Kentuckiana Lodge stablemates, Texican and Bettor’s Fire, won back-to-back $23,000 races at Yonkers Raceway, New York, on Sunday (NZ time).

Christen Me, has finished third in his last two Yonkers starts, both in $44,000 open paces.
Another ex-Kentuckiana Lodge star in Christen Me also ran third in a $44,000 open pace at Yonkers, behind former Australian pacer, Weona Sizzler.
Christen Me, also third in another $44,000 open pace the previous week for trainer Lance Hudson, has won over $100,000 for the year, despite winning only twice in 26 starts.
Texican, the 2011 NZ Sires Stakes 3YO Final winner, was recording his first win of the year for trainer Peter Tritton at his sixth start.
Now 10, the Bettor’s Delight-Bury My Heart gelding settled mid pack from the five gate but finished off best to win by half a length in 1:55.2.
Bettor’s Fire maintained his unbeaten run to four in the United States, moving from Maine to New York, for Sunday’s front-running win in 1:53.8.
A week ago, another ex-Kentuckiana Lodge pacer in Hundie notched his first USA win, taking out a $20,000 pace at Yonkers on December 3.
Hundie, transferred out of the Jimmy Tatker team to new trainer Gary Candell, led from the four gate for driver Eric Goodell, holding by a length and a quarter in 1:56.
